Han Liming, head of Nanjing delegation at the "two sessions" of Jiangsu Province, pledged to fulfil the city's responsibility recently.

"The speech of Xin Changxing, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, at the second session of the 13th Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and the government work report delivered by governor Xu Kunlin underscored the need for pioneering development and sound progress." Han said that Nanjing will earnestly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions and speeches on the work of the province, and implement the provincial government's arrangements and requirements, better reflecting the provincial capital’s commitment to shouldering responsibilities.

Firstly, to promote economic recovery with higher quality. Based on the city's resources, Nanjing will carry out investment promotion, increase new investment, revitalize stock assets, and facilitate coordination across various factors, platforms and talent. The city will constantly enhance innovation vitality, economic density and industrial quality, injecting new momentum into economic revival.

Secondly, to contribute to sci-tech self-reliance and self-strengthening as well as the enhancement and expansion of the industry chain. Nanjing will establish globally influential industrial S&T innovation centers, foster innovation-driven industrial clusters, and proactively develop fields like next-generation artificial intelligence, intelligent connected vehicle, synthetic biology, and low-altitude airspace economy. The city aims to gradually build strong momentum for new industrialization and productive forces.

Thirdly, to enhance Nanjing’s core function as a megacity. The city aims to reinforce its positions as "a national advanced manufacturing base, an industrial innovation center and regional innovation powerhouse in East China, a modern service center in East China, and a regional shipping and logistics hub." It will also deepen the opening up, foster a better business environment, and upgrade its development with a bigger role in driving growth of nearby regions.

Fourthly, to strengthen livelihood protection and social governance, and enhance the people's sense of fulfillment, happiness and security. Nanjing aims to increase the supply of public services, ensure equal access to the services, focus on resolving pressing issues, and strive to deliver benefits to the people and wining public approval.
