Jiangsu Province stands at the forefront in digital infrastructure and digital society building, holds the fourth position in both innovation capacity and digital economy, and ranks third nationwide in terms of overall development index, according to the China Internet Development Report 2023.

Chinese Academy of Cyberspace Studies (CACS) released the national report and the world version at the 2023 World Internet Conference (WIC) Wuzhen Summit, which opened on November 8. The national report evaluates development across six domains - infrastructure, innovation capacity, digital economy, digital society, security and governance.

In Jiangsu, the number of active users of Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) hit 45 million last year, among which 46% were mobile Internet users. As of March 2023, the province was home to 240 million IoT users, ranking second in the country.

In building a digital society, the province has established a mobile information platform dedicated to elderly care services. Jiangsu has made strides in the integration of Internet and elderly care services, such as emergency rescue, household services, rehabilitation, mental health comfort and legal rights protection.
