Yangzhou City issued a notice on November 15 requiring deployment of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in residential communities.

Starting this year 100% of new residential compounds should be ready for charging post construction.

No fewer than 30% of total parking spaces in such compounds also need to be equipped with intelligent facilities that can realize peak-shift charging. Efforts will also be made to regulate the whole procedure from planning to completion acceptance.

The notice also clarifies that sub-district offices will take the lead in planning public parking spaces and fast charging piles in old neighborhoods.
