With joint effort of the comprehensive COVID-19 response, Nanjing City in Jiangsu Province cleared all medium and high-risk areas by August 19 and is now regarded as of low infection risk citywide.
Lukou Sub-district in Jiangning District became the city’s last to make the progress, a milestone of Nanjing’s massive pandemic prevention and control since late July.
Zheng Chunfa, deputy director of Nanjing Transport Bureau, said public transport will gradually resume normal operation, including the full reopening of Nanjing Metro Line 1 and 3 on August 20 as well as S1, S7 and S9 scheduled on August 26.
Jiangning District will reopen 24 bus routes to the city’s main urban area and the 19 inter-city bus routes will also gradually reopen from August 26 depending on pandemic situations in related areas.
Nanjing will bring back road passengers services across the city at its nine bus terminals from August 26. The city also plans to resume long-distance bus services to destinations across the province except high-risk areas.
