Since the 3rd session of 13th CPPCC National Committee opened in Beijing, Jiangsu members have earnestly performed their functions and made many suggestions with the submission of 170 proposals.

The year 2020 is the year to finish building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and it is also the final year for achieving the goals in the 13th Five-Year Plan. This year also faces the daunting challenge to achieve victories in the two-front battle – combating the pandemic and also bolstering economic and social development.

The proposals focus on compiling the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, ensuring stable performance in six key areas, namely, stability in employment, finance, foreign trade, foreign investment, domestic investment, and market expectations, building the public health system, and boosting the business growth.

Jiangsu members of the CPPCC National Committee also put forward many suggestions on the Belt and Road initiative, integration of the Yangtze River Delta, rural revitalization, social governance, private education, smart city, and cultural soft power.
