Jiangsu’s holiday sales reach 1.47 billion yuan

Jiangsu achieved total sales of 1.47 billion yuan during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 25 to 27, basically rebounding back to the level in last year, according to the Jiangsu Department of Commerce.

The department’s current data of key circulation enterprises showed major shopping centers are all making the best use of the key consumption season from June to August.

Sales of the 14 key enterprises under monitoring in Nanjing reported a growth of 18.37 percent in the 3-day holiday. Nantong’s key companies made total sales of 137 million yuan, up 3.1 percent year on year. The 20 supermarkets in Xuzhou City also saw their sales up 11.2 percent year on year to reach 26.98 million yuan.

The coronavirus pandemic has accelerated the integration of online and offline sales in the retails sector. In Wuxi City, the digital payment platform UnionPay reported the use of 40,000 shopping coupons, which helped generat sales of 13.03 million yuan in the holiday.

Many cities have promoted new tourism choices, such as tours and shows in the nighttime. The scenic areas also highlighted intangible cultural heritage items, food, natural landscape, and cultural experiences to improve the travelling. On June 25, the number of visitors to the Qingming Bridge historical and cultural block in Wuxi City doubled than that during the May Day holiday.
