Jiangsu’s CPI up 0.5% in December

Jiangsu’s consumer prices index(CPI), a main gauge of inflation, rose 0.5 percent year on year in December,  up 0.9 percentage points from the decline of 0.4 percent in November, according to the survey team of the National Bureau of Statistics in the province.

Jiangsu’s CPI fluctuated in line with the national change as the country’s CPI also shifted from a fall of 0.5 percent to a rise of 0.2 percent in December.

Jiangsu's CPI rose 2.5 percent in 2020 over the previous year, a 0.6 percentage point drop from 2019. The CPI rose 4.9 percent in the first quarter, 3.9 percent in the first half of the year, 3.3 percent in the third quarter, and 2.5 percent in the last quarter.
