From June 15 to 17, the Peking Opera Troupe of the Jiangsu Performing Arts Group organized the annual performance evaluation of more than 60 staff members under 40 years old including actors, designers and administrators.

The 6-minute test, although unlike a real public performance, still saw the dedicated show of stage skills such as singing, speaking and acrobatics of each performer.

Luo Lang, head of the Peking Opera Troupe, said that the strict evaluation aims to remind young performers to work harder and bring the best of their performance to fans of the treasured traditional art form.

The evaluation also served as an audition to select the most capable performers for a new original show that the theater is working on.
