Lou Qinjian speaks at meeting of Jiangsu NPC delegation

The Jiangsu delegation at the third session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) hold a meeting on May 24 to study and implement the spirit of a speech made by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, in visiting national political advisors from the economic sector attending a joint panel discussion at the third session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

The meeting also deliberated the government work report and a draft civil code.

Lou Qinjian, head of Jiangsu delegation and secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Committee, said Jiangsu will be determined and confident in shouldering the responsibility and completing the mission, and be persistent in pursuing a high-quality development. The province will make more contribution to China’s stable and robust economic development.

He also said it is necessary to fully understand the significance of the civil code, continuously improve the capacity and modernization of the governance system, and provide a legal guarantee for developing Jiangsu to have “a strong economy, rich population, beautiful environment, and a highly civilized society.”
