Yuzui Wetland Park is a popular place to have a great view of the river, research the movement of river dolphin, and enjoy the beautiful local environment. During his visit, Lou said wetland has many environmental and economic benefits and needs to be placed under stronger conservation. Efforts are needed to develop wetland reserve and park and improve the biodiversity in the river.
At the estuary of Qinhuai New River, a floodway, Lou learned about the construction of the 5th Yangtze River Bridge and urged efforts to make long-term planning so the infrastructure can play a more important role in the integrated development across the river.
Muyan Riverside Area used to be a polluted industrial hub that damaged the river’s ecological environment. Lou took a tour by car along the river and reviewed the latest work to renovate and restore the environment. Lou said enterprises along the river need to comply with rigorous requirements, try to pursue transformation and technical upgrade, and free up space to support smart manufacturing, high-end service and green industries as a development priority.
