Lou Qinjian emphasizes new development concept in Yancheng visit

Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Committee, called for more targeted measures to ensure progress in the two-front battle, further deepen the industrial transformation, and implement the new development concept throughout the reform and development process.

He made the remark during a visit to Yancheng City on March 17 and 18.

Lou also visited the site of a chemical plant blast in Xiangshui County on March 21 last year, which is under renovation now. Lou said it’s important to ensure environmental governance and plan for the next step of development ahead of time, under the guidance of the new development concept.

While speeding up the shutdown of polluting enterprises and backward production facilities, Yancheng is rising rapidly as a hub of new industries after introducing quality projects.

Lou later visited Jiangsu Yueyang Photovoltaic Technology and DSBJ Yancheng Industrial Park.

He said that Jiangsu has a well-developed industrial chain and also attracted leading domestic and foreign enterprises to make faster investment in the province. Amid construction of new infrastructure, it’s hoped that enterprises can seize the opportunity, increase investment, and achieve the best development.

Lou also emphasized the need to further promote industrial transformation and upgrading. In line with the industrial foundation and conditions, Yancheng needs to follow the law of social development and technical advance, make systematic planning of industrial restructuring with a full consideration of the entire industrial chain, and solve the problem of pollution formed a long time ago. Under the precondition of ecological protection, it’s necessary to accelerate efforts to introduce high-level projects to the city, form the new driving force of economic growth, and develop a competitive modern industrial system, said Lou.

During the visit, Lou also inspected the resumption of agricultural production and the improvement of farmer's housing conditions in Hengdong Village, Jianhu County, and Jiafu Village in Yandu District.
