Schools from Jiangsu achieved the highest number of gold medals - 83 in total - during the China International College Students Innovation Competition 2024 that recently concluded its finals in Shanghai.
This represented the best performance by Jiangsu schools at this important national competition. The province also ranked first in both the higher-education and vocational-education categories.
This 2024 edition was jointly organized by 12 central government departments, including the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. Since its launch in May, the competition attracted 5.14 million projects from 5,406 universities across 153 countries and regions, with a total of about 20.8 million participants.
Jiangsu teams demonstrated outstanding performance in fields such as artificial intelligence, engineering, medicine, agriculture, and liberal arts.
This competition also attracted a planned investment of 6.8 billion yuan to commercialize outstanding research results by student teams nationwide.
