The 2024 summer travel season from July 1 to August 31 is anticipated to record 170 million trips across the Yangtze River Delta, representing a daily average of 2.8 million trips, an increase of 3.5% year-on-year.

A notably high proportion of the travelers will be student and children, with high-speed trains continuing to be the preferred transportation mode.

This year’s travel season will feature enhanced train services thanks to the application of more intelligent technologies. New train models have been introduced that are designed with improved noise control, better amenities, and increased luggage capacity.

Railway authorities in the region have also optimized the service provisions. Notably, passengers can get food they order online delivered to them at 21 stations.
