Changzhou City launched the second freight train service to destinations in Europe on March 19.
This new train service leaves from the city’s Benniu Port and passes Xi’an in Shaanxi Province and then Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to reach Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan. It takes about 15 days for the journey of 6,000 kilometers long.
On February 20, the city opened its first Europe-bound freight train through Xi’an and Horgos Port in Xinjiang before reaching Almaty, Kazakhstan.
In recent years, Changzhou has greatly improved the international cargo transport network. It has direct container transport to Japan, a sea-rail combined transport to Shanghai, and a cargo flight to Manila. Changzhou was recognized as the sea-rail intermodal transport demonstration base by Shanghai Port.
