The groundbreaking ceremony for Yaskawa (Changzhou) Mechatronics System, which involves a total investment of over $100 million, was held in the city’s Wujin High-tech Zone on December 29.

Yaskawa Electric Corporation, a market leader in the field of industrial robots and controllers, opened its first overseas robotics factory in the high-tech zone in 2012. It has seen a rapid growth over the years and now boasts an annual production capacity of 18,000 units.

Despite the COVID-19 impact, the factory is expected to achieve one billion yuan in total sales this year, up 20 percent year on year. It has also set a record in the delivery of robot units.

The factory has also fueled the rise of robot industry in Changzhou. At present, every one out of four robot units in China was made in the city.

The new company of Yaskawa in Wujin integrates the R&D and production of servo motors, controllers and other products. With a world-class quality and leading technologies, the products can be applied in extensive fields, such as energy saving and environmental protection, food production, agricultural automation, clean energy and medical care.
