An all-cargo aircraft from Mexico City, loaded with 54.6 tonnes of cargo, departed from Wuxi Shuofang International Airport on April 16, heading back to the Mexican capital.
The Airbus A330 flight marked the first regular all-cargo service connecting Jiangsu and Latin America and is currently the only freight flight from China to this destination operated by a Mexican airline.
The service will operate three times a week - on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays - departing at 4:00 am. Each journey takes about 22 hours and 50 minutes.
Currently, the exports mainly consist of cross-border e-commerce goods, in about 3,000 packages per flight. The imports are primarily general goods, such as auto parts, with seafood and fruits expected in the future.
At present, the airport also runs three weekly cargo flights to Leipzig, Germany, and a daily cargo flight to Seoul, South Korea.
