Wuxi City will invest 11.36 billion yuan this year in ecological governance of Taihu Lake, China's third-largest freshwater lake.
Notably, the recent dredging campaign has employed China’s latest eco-friendly intelligent vessel, which achieves an efficiency three times greater than that of conventional ships.
Previously, the dredging operation required transporting mud from the riverbed to the land for dewatering and harmless treatment, which occupied large land resources and took a long time. The new vessel can complete all mud dewatering, transport and treatment while on the lake.
