President Xi's words inspire confidence in private sector

President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, participates in a joint group meeting with national political advisers from the China National Democratic Construction Association (CNDCA) and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), in Beijing on Monday.

At the joint group meeting with national political advisers, Xi reaffirmed the nation's unwavering support for the private sector, pledging steps to bolster the confidence of businesses and entrepreneurs, reduce their burdens and promote their healthy and high-quality growth.

Members of the CPPCC National Committee and entrepreneurs across the country are inspired by Xi's words.

Hong Huimin, vice-chairman of the Jiangsu Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairman of the CNDCA Jiangsu Committee, said efforts will be made to take advantage of the CNDCA's close contact with the economic sector and promote participation in and deliberation of state affairs, especially in helping private sector to pursue high-quality development and contribute to the goal of common prosperity.

Liu Cong, chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, said in recent years the province's private sector has shown stable and positive growth and played an important role in supporting the province's economic growth. The federation will continue to unite and lead the private sector to make new contributions to the development of Jiangsu.

Shao Danwei, president of Wanbang Digital Energy Co Ltd, said President Xi has attached great importance to the private sector and sent the message that the state will be determined to implement policies to solve difficulties faced by enterprises and also establish a fair, open and transparent business environment based on the rule of law, which makes private entrepreneurs confident of future development.

In the view of Professor Yang Decai at Nanjing University's Business School, also director of the university's Private Economy Research Institute, President Xi's speech will boost private entrepreneurs' confidence of development.

"We should strive to optimize the private sector development environment, improve the guarantee mechanism, solve the problems faced by private enterprises, ensure better alignment between efficient market and well-functioning government, so that private enterprises can play a greater role in promoting economic development and common prosperity," Yang said.

Wei Qingsong, director of Hui Ye (Nanjing) Law Firm, said development of the private enterprise is inseparable from the rule of law, and it's necessary to give equal protection to all types of business entities, and strive to remove the barriers affecting equal protection.
