The Department of Transport in Jiangsu Province has recently released an action plan for digital transformation of highways from 2022 to 2025.

It has laid out five major tasks - accelerating application of digital technologies, promoting digital transformation of infrastructure, enhancing digital governance capacity, improving technology integration and innovation, and enhancing the support system.

The province will focus on 20 key programs, including strengthening the scientific management of data resources, promoting more intelligent construction sites and piloting intelligent service area for highway.

Jiangsu aims to build a full-fledged highway network underpinned by digital technologies and make achievements in safety, industrial development and other fields.

By the end of the 14th Five-year Plan, Jiangsu will build a competitive manufacturing industry associated with smart highways and equipment and form management platforms. The coastal province will take a leading role in terms of intelligent operation and maintenance of highways, according to the action plan.
