The 6th Future Network Development Conference will open in Nanjing on August 24 and is expected to inject new momentum into technology innovation, urban renewal and development of national strategies.

Nanjing, an important birthplace of China's future network, has hosted the conference for five times.

Led by academician Liu Yunjie, the Jiangsu Future Networks Innovation Institute (JFNII) was established in Nanjing's Jiangning Development Zone in 2011, in cooperation with the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University and other organizations.

Over the past ten years, the JFNII has made great achievements in cutting-edge technology research, incubating innovative enterprises and gathering high-end talents.

Meanwhile, the future network industry in Jiangning has achieved leapfrog development. At present, the JFNII has built a network of 61 innovation teams specialized in the field of communications and incubated 60 enterprises.

Furthermore, the conference has connected the global network communication and information security industries, brought together top-notch talent and leading enterprises, shared major original achievements, and linked pro-innovation resources across the world. It also boosted the application of technology for industrial upgrade and contributed to the rise of an industrial hub of network communication and security.

Liu said the future network technology has been initially commercialized in Jiangning. Emicnet, a leading startup of AI-powered voice assistance solution provider, was established with the support of the JFNII. In the fight against COVID-19, the company launched a voice robot to help enterprises resume work and production, achieving economic and social benefits at the same time.
