The world’s first smart vessel handling arm, designed and manufactured by Lianyungang Liquid Loading and Unloading Equipment Co Ltd, successfully completed its first operation at Basuo Port in Hainan Province, owned by China BlueChemical Ltd, on July 6.
This success represented a milestone for the equipment manufacturing industry in China.
The handing arm by the Lianyungang-based company, a subsidiary of China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited, can perform loading and unloading in more efficient ways, such as intelligent connection instead of manual work. Such equipment plays an important role in transporting oil and LNG from vessels to land storage. It is also a key tool to speed up digital transformation of port operations.
The Lianyungang-based company has been specialized in liquid loading and unloading equipment for 30 years. It has made a number of breakthroughs, such as China’s first LNG land fluid handling equipment and large-caliber handling arms.
