The first self-driving shuttle minibus in Jianye District made its debut at Nanjing Eco Hi-tech Island situated on Jiangxinzhou on January 30.

The minibus at Level 4 autonomous driving is an innovative product designed for urban open roads. It makes full use of sensors to capture data from the surrounding environment and AI technologies to be able to efficiently handle a variety of complex scenarios, in the absence of a human driver.

Jianye District aims to pilot smart urban transport service first on roads of 70 kilometers long in an area of 15 square kilometers on Jiangxinzhou. The initiative involves application of smart technologies on eight fronts including smart bus and smart ride-hailing service.
