The inbound China-Europe freight trains to Nanjing had imported goods worth $100 million by March 20 when a train loaded with 42 containers arrived from Neuss, Germany, according to Jinling Customs House, subordinate to Nanjing Customs District.

The containers were filled with some 180 kinds of products imported by 23 companies, which involved 45 customs declarations. Jinling Customs House has processed streamlined customs clearance for 14,600 tons of imports, shipped by 26 freight train services for some 200 companies in Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou and Wuxi. The goods had a total market value of $105 million.

The inbound freight trains make six to eight regular trips per month, creating an efficient trade route for companies as the air cargo capacity becomes unstable and ocean freight cost continues rising, said Kang Zheng, deputy director of the Jiangbei office of the Jinling Customs House.
