The development of Qibu Port in Lvsi Town reached a milestone on August 20 when four giant container cranes were slowly moved onshore at Pier 9, marking the shift from construction to equipment installation three months ahead of schedule.
With a total investment of 4.6 billion yuan, Qibu Port is set to be the province’s new gateway to the ocean and a world-class terminal featuring automatic and intelligent operations. Construction of the port stared on June 29 last year.
Zou Feng, chief engineer of the project, said three more container cranes will be moved to Pier 9 later and progress has been made on many fronts, such as water and pipeline work. Equipped with automatic technology and solutions, Qibu will become one of the most advanced coastal ports in the county.
