A total of 32 key projects with an investment of over 35 billion yuan reached agreement on the spot at the 2020 China Changzhou International Forum on Science and Technology & Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation that opened on September 28.

The projects involve the new generation of information technology, new materials, solar photovoltaic energy, automotive electronics, CNC machine tools, financial leasing and other fields.

The event, now in 16th edition, has become an important platform for the city’s opening up, networking and cooperation in S&T, trade, industry, projects, and talents. Over the years, the event has helped introduce more than 300 key projects into the city including major investment from Siemens and thyssenkrupp AG.

This year's fair is expected to see the agreement for 238 investment projects involving a total investment of over 100 billion yuan. The fair also sets up online events for participants in Germany, Japan, South Korea, Israel and other countries, who can’t attend in person due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the opening ceremony, Changzhou released its first “Industry Map” to outline the industrial opportunities, business environment, investment policy and other information.

The ceremony also announced the opening of the Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Park, located in the city’s Jintan District. The park has attracted nearly 30 German-invested enterprises, becoming another top destination of German investment in Jiangsu Province.
