China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Development Group (CSSD) and Sembcorp Development have won the approval from the Myanmar Investment Commission to jointly develop the Myanmar Singapore Industrial Park, according to Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee on August 20.

The industrial park covers 4.36 square kilometers of land in the Hlegu Township of Yangon Region for industrial, residential and commercial purposes over a development period of nine years.

CSSD operates industrial park construction, investment promotion, operation, and other businesses. This marked the first overseas industrial park investment of CSSD. In November 2018, CSSD and Sembcorp Development signed the strategic agreement to venture into markets in Southeast Asia.
