China Jintan Global Investment Network Conference kicked off online in Changzhou, Jiangsu, on August 16. Affected by the global pandemic, the organizer took an innovative way of communication and live-streamed the event on various popular platforms including Tiktok to reach out to entrepreneurs across the globe.
Jintan, located between Shanghai and Nanjing, is a new industrial hub planned by Jiangsu Province within Yangtze River Delta focusing on future technologies and Sino-German cooperation. The Sino-German cooperation has been playing an important role in the booming economic development in Jiangsu Province, one of the earliest Chinese provinces initiating close economic partnership with German federal states. Jiangsu established cooperation with North Rhine-Westphalia in 1984 and Baden Wuerttemberg in 1985.
During the online event, the local authority announced the operation of the Sino–German (Changzhou) Innovation Industry Park. Constructed in 2018, the industry park was acknowledged as an outstanding manufacturing base matching German Industry 4.0 standard by the representative office of Baden Wuerttemberg in China. Up to now the park has attracted 27 “Hidden Champion” enterprises from Germany including EMAG and Pilz. At the core area of the park, the Sino-German (Changzhou) Center is about to be completed and put into use by the end of September this year. It is planned to be a one-stop service center for cooperation with partners from Germany.
Besides, the Sino–German (Changzhou) Innovation Industry Park, Jintan Economic Development Zone, Jincheng Science Technology Industrial Park and Hua Luogeng Science Technology Industrial Park have been homes of many leading Chinese and international industrial enterprises, such as the China Aviation Lithium Battery Technology, EGing Photovoltaic Technology and SK Innovation.
