Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Committee joined Hao Peng, secretary of the CPC Committee of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council(SASAC), Miao Wei, Party chief and minister of Industry and Information Technology and Wang Xi, member of the Party Leading Group and deputy minister of Science and Technology to witness the launch of a new automobile company in Nanjing City on the morning of June 29 through video conferencing.
Zhongqi Chuangzhi Technology is a joint venture by China South Industries Group, FAW, Dongfeng Motor, Chang'an Automobile and Nanjing Jiangning Economic and Technical Development Company. With a vision to create low-carbon, intelligent, safe and ultimate driving experience for a better life, the new company will build up its competitiveness in new energy cars and Internet Connected Vehicle, with leading technologies in the core auto platform, system and integration. The company plans to build itself into China's best and the world's first-class innovation-driven automobile enterprise in 3 to 5 years, facilitating the automobile industry transformation in the country.
At the launch ceremony, Lou said the automotive industry represents a country's level of technological innovation and integration as well as high-end equipment manufacturing. The project’s settlement in Jiangsu shows trust and confidence of the coastal province, which boasts a complete industrial chain, abundant talents, wide application opportunities and a large market. Jiangsu is ready to work with all sides to open a new chapter of boosting real economy, industry and innovation in order to serve the nation.
Hao said that he hopes that the three central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in auto industry can enhance the sense of responsibility, mission and urgency, do their utmost to set up, operate and develop the new company, and make positive contributions to the transformation and upgrading of China's auto industry.
The SASAC will firmly support the three SOEs to work together with Jiangsu Province and Nanjing City to build a high-level research and development platform of new energy vehicles and promote China's rise as an automotive powerhouse.
