Nanjing Municipal People’s Government launched a series of events on September 5, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games held in Nanjing.
More than 300 participants, including representatives from sports organizations, universities, business community and Olympic athletes, met in Nanjing for the anniversary.
Following the Summer Youth Olympic Games, Nanjing has hosted international competitions of roller skating, sailing, badminton, volleyball, basketball, and track and field. Notably, it has earned the title of "World Capital of Roller Sports".
Currently, the city boasts over 10,000 sports-related business entities and has established more than 10 national sports industry bases. It offers an average of 4.22 square meters of sports facilities per capita, and its annual average sports spending per capita is 3,120 yuan, placing Nanjing as a leader in terms of sports development across the nation.
