Jiangsu Province plans to implement more measures to deepen transportation reforms, according to a press conference held on September 5.
The province will intensify efforts to modernize its transport infrastructure system, ensuring that the annual investment in infrastructure exceeds 220 billion yuan this year. Jiangsu will improve the highway network in its northern area and accelerate the construction of 10 passages across the Yangtze River.
It will develop a higher-standard transport and logistics system, advance multimodal freight transportation, and expand maritime shipping routes to India and Cambodia. Jiangsu also aims to achieve 2,200 freight train trips to Europe and Asia this year.
The province plans to enhance public services to meet travel needs. It will feature inclusive passenger transport, improve urban public transit services, and enhance flight network to reach major global hub airports.
Jiangsu will promote a smart, green, and safe transportation system, involving the construction of smart highways, waterways and ports. The province plans to complete the digital transformation and upgrade of 2,940 kilometers of roads and 1,746 kilometers of waterways within three years.
Efforts will also be made to establish a collaborative mechanism for low-altitude airspace management and to expedite the establishment of a provincial low-altitude flight service center.
