Eastern Airport Group handled more than 9.5 million passenger trips in July and August, also the 62-day summer travel season, representing a year-on-year growth of 8.8%.
Among the group’s airports, Nanjing Lukou International Airport reported 6.13 million passenger trips, an increase of 11.1% year-on-year, with over 700 flights daily. Airports in Changzhou and Xuzhou also recorded their highest passenger throughput, with an average passenger load factor exceeding 85% for outbound flights.
Domestic tourism routes remained popular during the period, and the visa-free policy further boosted international travel. Notably, fights to Singapore, Jeju, Kuala Lumpur and Phuket all reported passenger load factors exceeding 80%.
Jiangsu's airports placed a greater emphasis on enhancing services to improve travel experience. For example, Nanjing Lukou International Airport improved its parking space, and also cooperated with Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong Airlines to introduce electronic boarding services. Additionally, the airport in Changzhou increased the number of charging ports for passengers.
