Recently, the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and the provincial government issued a document emphasizing the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP)’s commitment to innovation-driven industrial growth, supported by advancements in science, technology and opening-up, with the aim to become an "important window" to showcase Chinese path to modernization.
In accordance to the requirements set by the provincial and municipal Party committees, SIP has promptly initiated 50 implementation measures across six areas, each with a clear mission statement, roadmap and timetable.
Reflecting on its 29-year history, SIP has demonstrated pioneering spirit and forged ahead with strides in development, much like traversing a river fraught with uncertainties and then transforming hidden obstacles into shining 'beacons'. As a cooperative project between the governments of China and Singapore, SIP stands as the sole cluster of foreign-funded headquarters economy in Jiangsu, with 118 headquarters of multinational companies and more than 200 foreign-funded R&D centers. SIP has continuously enhanced its policy system and service environment to support the development of headquarters economy and expanded the cluster’s influence.
The Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation Zone has facilitated the efficient flow of innovation factors, the sharing of pro-innovation knowledge and the rapid utilization of inventive achievements by fostering synergies between industry, academia, research and application.
The zone has attracted 33 famous universities (research institutes) from China and abroad, along with 15 national-level research institutes and over 5,000 innovative tech enterprises. Currently, it has become the most concentrated hub of education, science and technology, and talent resources within SIP.
