The third Jiangsu Development Conference will open on May 20, as preparatory work has now been completed, according to the conference’s organizing committee at a press conference on May 14.
The previous two sessions were held in 2017 and 2019, respectively, and the new session has the theme of "Love Jiangsu and build a dream together."
Gu Wanfeng, executive vice director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, said the conference has received wide attention after a suspension of four years.
As of May 10, 1,002 guests had confirmed to attend the conference, including 420 from overseas and 286 from outside Jiangsu. The participants share a strong connection with Jiangsu, with about 70% born or raised in the province. Over the years, they have made important contributions to the province’s economic and social development.
According to the schedule, the opening ceremony and the Jiangsu Development Forum will be held on the morning of May 20 while four meetings on different topics will open in the afternoon of the same day, such as the Purple Mountain Science and Technology Forum and the Yangtze River Business Summit.
On May 21, guests will visit their hometowns across the province. Meanwhile, Jiangsu’s 13 cities that have subordinate districts will carry out a series of activities to facilitate communication and contact.
