Yang Jiechi visits Jiangsu on foreign affairs work

Yang Jiechi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, visited East China’s Jiangsu Province on June 28.

Yang exchanged views with leaders of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial committee and the provincial government on foreign affairs work.

Yang said Jiangsu has strengthened the Party's leadership in diplomatic endeavor, incorporated the Belt and Road initiative into its development, and actively promoted international exchange and public diplomacy at the regional level. He acknowledged the province’s achievements in aligning with the country’s diplomacy strategy and efforts.

Stressing that the world is undergoing profound changes at an accelerated pace, Yang called for regional authorities to forge ahead under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, earnestly implement the CPC Central Committee's foreign policy plans and decisions, give full play to regional advantages, and continue to serve the country’s diplomatic efforts.

In the meeting, Wu Zhenglong, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the committee, said Jiangsu will make solid efforts on foreign affairs work, advance the Belt and Road initiative at high quality, and support the country’s diplomatic work and opening up.
