Jiangsu has released 16 measures to help companies make the best use of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement and actively participate in international cooperation.

The measures were jointly introduced by the province’s Department of Commerce and other six departments.

Efforts will be made to ensure smooth customs clearance, support the scheme of approved exporter in foreign trade, and help enterprises of RCEP member countries to set up regional headquarters or R&D centres in Jiangsu and contribute to private investment funds, according to the measures.

The province will optimize the trade structure with RCEP member countries, upgrade key exhibitions, and enhance the visibility of Jiangsu brands in the RCEP region. It will also accelerate the development of new modes of foreign trade, and encourage enterprises to set up public overseas warehouses in RCEP member countries.

Jiangsu plans to strengthen cooperation with ASEAN in the fields of culture, tourism and professional services and with Japan and South Korea in industrial design, healthcare and technical services. Development of digital trade will also be accelerated in the coastal province.

As of April 10, Nanjing Customs had issued 15,200 RCEP certificates of origin for goods with a market value of 5.716 billion yuan.
