Jiangsu announced a series of measures during a work conference on human resources and social security on February 28.
The coastal province plans to accelerate the cultivation of strategic talent this year, introduce an evaluation criterion for professionals in digital economy, and take other steps to bolster the sector’s development.
Jiangsu also aims to improve industrial coordination, support entrepreneurship and skills training, strengthen regional cooperation, and create more than 1.2 million new jobs throughout the year.
The province will steadily improve its social security benefits, raising the minimum basic pensions for urban and rural residents to 187 yuan per month. It will pilot other measures to protect the rights of workers engaged in new forms of employment.
