Jiangsu’s leading group on COVID-19 response convened a meeting on July 28 to study the important instructions by President Xi Jinping on the pandemic prevention and control, listen to a report of Nanjing City’s efforts in fighting against the virus, and also make new decisions to ensure the progress ahead.
Presided over by Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, the meeting noted that departments at all levels should regard it as a political responsibility to prevent the COVID-19 spread to other regions. It’s necessary to recognize the grave challenges of the current situation, take effective measures based on careful analysis and scientific researches, and adopt goal-orientated approaches to identify and address the risk factors. The meeting requested that Party members and cadres should stand up to the challenges, improve the release of information to be timely, transparent and authoritative, enable the mass to easily voice their concerns, guarantee people’s trouble-free access to assistance, and improve the psychological counseling.

The province will make it a priority to overcome difficulties faced by enterprises due to the epidemic, keep the supply chain and industrial chain stable, and facilitate progress of major projects and economic growth.
