East China’s Jiangsu Province held a collective launch ceremony for 174 major agricultural and rural projects, which involve a total investment of 145.5 billion yuan, at a mushroom production and processing base in Donghai County, Lianyungang City on March 24.
Despite the massive COVID-19 disruption in last year, the province managed to start the construction of 1,086 key projects to support agricultural and rural development, with completed investment of 107.7 billion yuan and 825 projects put into operation. Such efforts have greatly facilitated the recovery of work and production and created strong momentum to the rural revitalization initiative.
Yang Shiyun, director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, said that the projects are to ensure the supply of grain and other important agricultural products, and stimulate green growth and rural construction. Agricultural and rural departments at all levels will strengthen financial input, make good use of the amended policy over land transaction fees, actively promote the issuance of local government special bonds, and establish a sound system to expand investment in the agricultural and rural areas.
Jiangsu will also focus on efforts to support financing service, implement cooperation agreement with 10 banks, give full play of 1.55 trillion yuan of credit support from partner banks, and support financial institutions to provide long-term and stable credit services for major projects.
Meanwhile, the province will coordinate the effective use of special funds at all levels related to agriculture and local government special bonds, and strengthen efforts to promote more, faster and better investment flow into agriculture and rural areas.
