Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Committee, went on an inspection tour in Lianyungang and Yancheng cities from October 12 to 14, with a focus on promoting high-quality development at the coastal regions during the upcoming 14th Five Year Plan period (2021-2025).
Lou said it’s important to take advantage of major development opportunities and coordinate the planning of high-quality growth at the coastal regions in line with China’s new development pattern "dual circulation," which takes the domestic market as the mainstay and allows domestic and foreign markets to boost each other. Efforts are needed to give priority to ecological protection, sustainable growth and distinctive development, making the coastal area to be the home to green industries, characteristic towns and beautiful sceneries.
During his visit to Hankou Port New Village and Huangwo Village in Lianyungang, Lou fully affirmed the progress in improving rural housing and development and called for efforts to proceed with the overall planning, aim at higher goals, and enhance the development level.
In Yancheng, Lou made a stop at the 100,000 ton-class general purpose berth in Binhai Port and inquired about the water quality and development plan. It’s necessary to do a good job in scientific planning, focus on the extension of the port’s industry chain in development, expediate progress in wastewater treatment and recycling at a high standard, and improve the comprehensive energy management, said Lou.
