Jiangsu Province held a symposium on the reform of mass organizations in Wuxi City on July 6, amid the 5th anniversary of a speech made by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee in July 2015.

The symposium reviewed and summarized the achievements of the reform of mass organizations in the past five years and analyzed the problems to be addressed in the coastal province.

It also decided to deepen understanding of the spirit of Xi's important speech and make new efforts to promote the reform progress to be among the national lead.

Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Committee, said the work on mass organizations is an important component of the undertakings of the CPC, and mass organization reform is an important part of overall reform.

In the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, these organizations have united and mobilized the masses and contributed on the forefront of prevention and treatment, playing an important role in the province’s pandemic response and work resumption.

Lou Qinjian also stressed that, in the face of new situations and tasks, mass organizations need to work under the guideline of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, adhere to the right direction in the deepening reform, and go all out to win the two-front battle, combating the outbreak and bolstering economic and social development, and push Jiangsu’s development to a new level.
