Jiangsu museums record 28.6 mln visits during summer school holiday

During the summer school holiday in July and August, registered museums across Jiangsu Province welcomed about 28.6 million visits, up 8.53% from the same period last year.

The province’s 91 museums also extended their opening hours and hosted various night-tour activities.

The ten most-visited museums were Nanjing Museum, Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders, Suzhou Museum, Yangzhou China Grand Canal Museum, Nanjing Municipal Museum, Zhou Enlai Memorial Hall, Grand Bao'en Temple Heritage and Scenic Area, Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall, Changzhou Museum, and the Hostorical Museum of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. Together, they received about 6.97 million visits.

By city, Nanjing, Wuxi, Suzhou, Xuzhou and Changzhou ranked the top five for museum visitor numbers.

Furthermore, sales of cultural and creative products at registered museums across the province reached a combined 148 million yuan.
