The exhibition space of Jiangsu Pavilion for local historical records has become one of the most popular destinations at the 2023 Jiangsu Book Fair since its opening on July 1.
Holding notebooks, cards or scrolls, visitors lined up to receive marks from 13 special seals representing the province's 13 cities. For those interested in collecting such seal marks, Jiangsu Pavilion provides a great opportunity to expand their collection, as each city's seal is often beautifully designed and highlights its cultural identity.
At the venue, some proudly showed the mark of the time-honored Guangling Press in Yangzhou or the unique mark belonging to a café in Nanjing, which no longer offers the service today.
Parents also brought their children to Suzhou for this activity, believing it to be a good way to learn about cultures of the 13 cities in Jiangsu.
Elderly people and their grandchildren could also be seen in the queue. One person said, "I used to like collecting stamps when I was young. Now that I am retired and have more spare time, so I can go to different museums to collect these seal marks and explore the exhibits.”
