Today, the Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race kicks off in Suzhou Industrial Park to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival. 66 teams paddle the waves.
This year, a total of 1,398 people participate, of which 172 are from 15 countries and regions such as France, Germany, the United States, Russia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, etc., accounting for 13%. They gather together in Suzhou, an international city with high quality of openness.
The race combines both competition and performance. In order to let more teenagers understand and love the excellent traditional festival culture, this year, the performance part is firstly set up for primary and secondary school students.
This year, the Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race has established a friendly relationship with the "Austria Vienna Danube Dragon Boat Race".
At the event, the two sides carried out online international interaction. Water sports such as kayaks, paddleboards, sailing boats, and electric surfboards were also invited to display simultaneously at the scene to explore the diversity of water sports in Jingui Lake and bring a rich viewing experience to the audience.
