China Silk Archives opens in Suzhou

China Silk Archives, located in Suzhou City of Jiangsu Province, opened on June 9, also International Archives Day.

The facility houses a collection of 29,592 records, serving as a vast treasure trove of information that sheds light on the city's reputation as "silk capital." It also provides insights into China's modern industrial and commercial development as well as its trade exchange with other countries.

Featuring the characteristics of typical Jiangnan-style garden, the facility is divided into exhibition halls, special collection rooms, multi-functional meeting rooms and reading zones, and integrates functions such as collection, protection, research, display, education and tourism.
