The Second China Newspaper Industry Innovation Development Conference opened in Nanjing on June 27.
The conference was organized by the National Press and Publication Administration in cooperation with the Jiangsu Provincial Press and Publication Administration and Xinhua Daily Media Group.
Zhang Jianchun, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a keynote speech.
Zhang Aijun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and head of the committee’s Publicity Department, also spoke at the meeting.
The conference consisted of the main forum and four parallel sessions. It released 120 cases related to innovation and integrated development of Chinese newspaper industry. An exhibition showcasing these cases as well as a training workshop to promote innovation-driven development of the newspaper industry were also held during the conference.
Participants in the meeting also included officials in charge of the publicity department of provincial CPC committees as well as directors of major Party newspapers and nationwide publications.
