In the first five months of the year, Jiangsu's exports of new energy vehicles, lithium-ion batteries and solar cells reached 3.9 billion yuan, 39.15 billion yuan and 44.84 billion yuan, respectively, marking year-on-year increase of 541.6%, 64.3% and 8%, according to Nanjing Customs.

The strong growth of the new energy products has also driven the coastal province's foreign trade.

Among recent developments, 24 new energy vehicles were transported to Mexico from Taicang Port using a "collapsible special frame." This special transport mode can effectively alleviate the pressure of car transportation while saving the storage space in the terminal and on vessels, and reducing the damage rate.

Taicang Customs House, subordinate to Nanjing Customs District, has introduced services to improve customs clearance efficiency. About 60% of the automobiles exported from Taicang Port can be transported using the collapsible special frame.

In addition, the province's 15 departments including commerce, industry and information technology, and finance have implemented multiple measures to stabilize foreign trade.

Recently, Uhome Smart Energy (Wuxi) Co Ltd has gone all out to ensure battery production, which will be exported to over 20 countries and regions worldwide. Jiang Ting, deputy general manager of the company, said, "In the first five months of this year, the export value plus orders in hand exceeded 120 million yuan, an increase of over 70% compared to the same period last year. Notably, the export growth has been particularly evident since the second quarter, with the export value accounting for nearly 65% of the total this year."

As an innovative small and medium-sized enterprise, Wuxi Sunket New Energy Technology Co Ltd registered an export value of nearly 300 million yuan for its solar cells, solar panels and batteries. In the second half of the year, the export of its high-voltage lithium batteries will continue to increase, while low-voltage lithium batteries will also maintain a stable growth.

Industry experts believe that the global demand for the "three major ones," namely solar batteries, lithium-ion batteries and electric vehicles, will continue to surge as the world increasingly prioritizes green and low-carbon development. The competitive industry chain and favorable policy environment in Jiansgu will also benefit enterprises as they explore international markets.
