International Mineral Gemstone and Fossil Expo to open in Nanjing next month

The 2023 China (Nanjing) International Mineral Gemstone and Fossil Expo (CIMGE) will open at the Nanjing International Exhibition Center from May 4 to 7.

CIMGE 2023 will be co-organized by the View Stone Association of China, Nanjing University, China University of Geosciences and China University of Mining and Technology.

The exhibition will have over 300 standard booths and 30 special booths. The main hall will include zones dedicated to mineral crystals, fossils, meteorites, jewelry, ornamental stones, and science popularization activities. The sideline venues will be hosted by Nanjing University, Nanjing Geological Museum and Jiangsu Mineral Culture Exchange Center, respectively.

Li Zhijian, secretary-general of the View Stone Association of China, said hundreds of thousands of top-quality mineral, gemstones, and fossils from all over the world will be displayed at the exhibition. Among them, more than a dozen pieces of fossil specimens that are of significant importance in the history of the evolution of life on earth and regarded as national treasures will be unveiled for the first time in Nanjing.

There are also several exhibitions specially for mineral crystals, fossils, and Nanjing's iconic "rainflower stone." Other activities include a forum on museums, an auction and a science popularization week.

The expo is expected to attract more than 150 exhibitors from over 10 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany, France, Italy, South Africa and India.
