Nanjing Customs piloted online services for issuing the inspection and quarantine certificate in Suzhou City starting April 10.

Furniture maker Huadali successfully received the phytosanitary certificate for a batch of solid wood furniture products issued by the customs, becoming the first company in Jiangsu Province to benefit from the new service.

"Our company is mainly engaged in the export of sofas, tables, chairs, closets and other wooden furniture and needs more than 500 documents and certificates each year. The application materials can now be uploaded online and then printed by ourselves, which saved the trouble of going to the customs office," said Ren Chiheng, Huadali's customs affairs manager.

Suzhou-based Youi Foods also benefited from the service on the same day. The company's import and export business manager, Wang Xiaqin, used the website of the China International Trade Single Window to declare export plans. The system automatically verified the information, and the approval time was shortened from one working day to a few minutes.

With the management system, enterprises can choose from 23 kinds of certificate templates, and enter and update the basic information anytime. Trading companies can print the certificate online or pick up the paper version at a customs office.
