Jiangsu wins 60 gold medals in top innovation and entrepreneurship competition

With the billion-pixel infrared intelligent computing imaging project, a team from Nanjing University of Science and Technology won the championship at the finals of the 8th China International College Students' "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition held at Chongqing University on April 9.

This also marked the first time for student teams from Jiangsu's universities to win the highest honor in the nationwide contest.

Students from the province's universities advanced to the finals with a total of 121 projects and took home 60 gold medals, setting a new record and ranking first in China's province-level regions.

In addition, Southeast University, Hohai University and Nanjing Agricultural University also participated in an exhibition of student achievements.

The student competition, hosted by the Ministry of Education, is the top event in China's entrepreneurship field. A total of 368,800 teams from Jiangsu universities have participated in the competition since its inception in 2015, and won 156 gold medals, ranking first in China.

Jiangsu has attached great importance to the innovation and entrepreneurship training program and continued to cultivate the start-up incubation platforms, with 14 national-level colleges and bases for this endeavor, also the highest number in China.

Jiangsu has also incubated more than 5,000 enterprises launched by college students, with a cumulative valuation of more than 20 billion yuan. These efforts have played an active role in promoting the transformation of research achievements and serving the high-quality development of the regional economy.
