The Second Yangtze River Delta Digital Economy Development Conference, co-hosted by Xinhua Daily, the People's Government of Jiangning District and Jiangsu Digital Economy Federation, was held in Nanjing on April 11.
During the meeting, Li Qianmu, vice chairman of the Jiangsu Science and Technology Association, said the key to digital transformation is to ensure effective data flow.
"To promote the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry, it's necessary to solve traditional problems such as repetitive construction, overcapacity and structural homogeneity, while creating a better atmosphere that can protect and stimulate the enthusiasm of enterprises," Li added.
Guo Qiao, vice president of Xuelang Industrial Software Research Institute, said digital transformation involves using data analysis to optimize decision-making. "For example, 3 million parts, 200,000 processes, 100,000 drawings and other massive information are involved in making a large domestic aircraft. Digital transformation means building a digital twin of the aircraft using manufacturing data, geometric model and knowledge model. In other words, through digitization, a digital aircraft will be delivered simultaneously with a real aircraft."
With the application of digital technologies, "the digital dividends" continue to expand in Jiangsu. The digital economy exceeded 4.5 trillion yuan in 2022, ranking second in the country, according to statistics released.
"Jiangsu will continue to focus on the commercialization of digital technologies and the digital transformation of industries," said Chi Yu, deputy director of the province's Department of Industry and Information Technology.
